Rodrigues , a love story with a creole flavour

Legend goes that on the last day of creation so pleased and proud of his magnificent making, a tear of joy pearled down from God’s right eye and dropped from heaven. It fell on to the floor of the Indian Ocean. In that very same place a violent volcano erupted to form the Cinderella of the Mascarene Islands: Rodrigues. Sunbathing in the peaceful turquoise transparency of the Indian Ocean basin lays the tiny volcanic island. Swollen with pride yet shy, sundrenched all year round, Rodrigues is a perfect retreat for adventurous pirates, a promise land for lost crusoes and damsels of breathtaking beauty waiting to be rescued.  Carved through the rocks to the core, the contours of the land were sculpted through time into life-giving,  checked-green valleys and hills. Its  serpentine streams flow across the island telling stories of its pasts. Sun kissed island as if locked in a snapshot of its past, all over the island floats the sweetest scent of golden honey with a citrusy hint of freshly picked lemon: a land of passion , a land of love with a Creole flavour.
